In a recent instagram post I talked about how, for a long time, I used to struggle with the first two rounds of each bbg workout and would find rounds 3 and 4 easier.
I realised that, in my haste to get each session out of the way, I wasn’t giving my body ample time to warm up. Once I began to introduce some simple stretches into my routine, I found that I could workout just as hard in rounds 1 and 2 as the later rounds. Not only this, I also found that it helped counteract the pains I’d been developing in my neck and back. You can watch a couple of the simple stretches I began doing here. Warm up 01 / Warm up 02
Something else you could try, which has helped me a lot recently, has been doing a few new video classes alongside Kayla’s program and my usual LISS session. For the past few weeks I’ve been doing some Release, Mobility and Yoga classes from Daily Burn. We have a free system in our gym, so I’ve not done research on any alternatives, but it’s been good for me. If you want to check them out for yourself, they do have a free 30 day trial.
I’ll leave you with one last clip, it’s an Equinox yoga video featuring Briohny Smyth. The daily burn videos are a little cheesy, especially the mobility video (my bf and I are big fans of Eric), so I felt I owed it to Briohny to share this. Some of the poses are out of this world. Enjoy!
