I meant to post this since my birthday weekend at the end of July but living in NYC got the best of me. This was the weekend that my phone decided to go swimming and drowned. We stupidly went canoeing with 3 phones, a portable charger and a bluetooth speaker. In terms of thoughtless decisions I’ve made in life, this is certainly up there.
I didn't want to write a lengthy post but I wanted to share with you some photos of my favourite moments from our trip to Connecticut. Hands down the most memorable and inspiring experience that weekend was our two hour tour of The Glass House by Philip Johnson, who was one of world's greatest modern architects.
The house was revolutionary when it was built in 1949 and is still remarkable today. The guide made the whole experience come alive within the context of the physical site; I was left both inspired and feeling alive.
The building is surrounded by beautiful nature and is not just for lovers of history & architecture. If you ever find yourself with an extra day in New York then I highly recommend driving the 90 minutes upstate, or taking the train directly to New Canaan to visit this stunning site.
Rich organised the entire weekend to surprise me for my birthday. He booked a really cute Air BNB place with a huge backyard, lake and canoes, so thoughtful and sweet ♡
If you follow my snapchat you'll know Rich loves his fruit, yogurt and granola.
Possibly one of the best gifts he has given me for my birthday, an inspiring experience at the Glass House.
I bet you have no clue what this is.
