Hotel Escondido is the Oacxcan coastline gem of Groupo Habita duo Moisés Micha and Carlos Couturier. Designed for equal measures of relaxation and play, we found ourselves feeling immediately at home in this private and secluded setting.
All of the hotel’s 16 rooms (palapas) lead out onto the private beach. There’s little surf in this particular section but it’s perfect for a sunset stroll, which we dully indulged in.
We spent the majority of our few days in Puerto Escondido bobbing between the main pool and the individual pools of each of our palapas, sipping mescal and soda.
The privacy of the hotel created a relaxed ambiance that was most welcome coming directly from the chaos of Mexico City.
What’s great about Hotel Escondido is that it’s as well suited for for small groups as it is for couples looking to escape from a life of too many decisions.
